Silent Yearning

In silence I watched as you reached out to me.
Anticipating, but not knowing
Would you touch my hand, my heart or my soul?
Should I back away and hide?
Or will I find the courage deep inside?
Should I dare look and see?
I hesitate; I have to wait.
The answers, they will come.
I hold on to my thoughts of forbidden past,
Relishing moments of forgotten dreams
As they hold me back and silence me
Keeping me ever so still
Can you answer this but one
Question, if you will?
Would you steal my heart like you stole the stars?
I saw them in your eyes!
